Age/Class: 36 // Teacher of Criminal Investigations Techniques
Power: Hughes has an amazing memory for detail, but his main power is hidden; that is he has accurate aim every single time he needs to use a thrown weapon. He likes push knives the most - effective, easy to conceal and not usually fatal.
Why you feel you would play this character well: I seem to play spazzes better than any other broad genre of character. >>; don't ask why.
Give us your interpretation of their background:
Maes works in the criminal investigations part of the military and he has been stationed at Meillure to search out potential candidates for a secret magical squad as well as keeping an eye on Jonas Taylor; the former Naval Officer accused of negligent manslaughter of his fellow deep sea pilots. Maes took the job mainly as it took him out of a dangerous position and much as he wants to help his best friend, Roy Mustang, to the top - he can be at home with his wife and daughter more this way.
He is very smart and he dedicates himself to his job; but his first love is his little girl, closely followed by his wife. He crosses the border of obsession over her - but it is in an adorable way and no one can help but be touched by it, if exasperated by it at times.
He had a less than blood-free past and he wants his friend to reach the top so he can start to effect and change policies and stop the needless violence.
